What an exciting spring and summer it has been for all of us with the TRK Design Company. When we last posted in March we were full of excitement about coming back into Marblehead and the greater New England market. Our excitement has been greatly realized as we've heard from so many of our friends, clients (new & existing), suppliers, and other business associates. Thank you. It is great pleasure to announce that we will now begin offering our complete professional design services and exceptional products directly to our clients in New England.

Since 2001 we have been offering our services in New England exclusively through NorthShore Kitchens Plus in Marblehead, MA. Effective immediately we are able to work with you directly. We will also continue to offer our ongoing services to NorthShore Kitchens clients.

Great news! TRK has partnered with our stone fabricators and our Pennsylvania wood countertop shop to offer winter specials never available before. Check out what we have to offer.

Granite & Marble - We've ordered new slabs from around the world which will start arriving this spring. All of our existing stock must be moved. We have hundreds of remnants which are perfect for islands, vanities, furniture, and bars. Let us know what you need and we're happy to schedule a time for you to select your stone.

Wood Countertops - Over 40 wood species and combinations from all over the world and finished to your specifications. We've embarked on a new marketing program to the media and are looking for new projects for web site images and our national advertising program. Let us know what you need and we'll make samples just for you. Nothing warms up a room like natural wood.

Happy New Year to all. While 2008 was a very trying year, there were a great deal of things to be thankful for. At the top of this list is our families, friends, and very appreciated clients. 2009 is already starting out very exciting. Manufactures have been busy preparing to come to market with many new and exciting products. I look forward to posting these for you both in this blog as well as our web site. By the way, have you toured our web site lately? If not, please take a tour. It's been completely refreshed and you'll be sure to enjoy all the beautiful photographs and copy. NKBA National Design Competition

Judging the NKBA National Design Competition proved to be a wonderful experience for Thomas R. Kelly, CMKBD. Tom was asked to travel to Morristown, New Jersey to participate with several other of the industry's top designers. There were over 860 designs to be judged from designers all across the United States. Kitchens, bathrooms, and powder rooms were presented from some of the industry's top professional designers. New products, exotic materials, and clever approaches to traditional design requirements made the judging very difficult. For those interested the "winners" are now found in many leading magazines available at news stands.

Prior to this competition, Tom has served as a judge for several Sub-Zero/Wolf design competitions.

CMKBD Certification

The National Kitchen and Bath Association has recently recognized Thomas R. Kelly of TRK Design Company for extraordinary experience, excellence, and achievements in the industry with the CMKBD designation. The Certified Master Kitchen and Bath Designer is only awarded to those select professionals who possess not only their CKD and CBD certifications, but must have an additional ten (10) years of experience beyond the date of their first certification. This means that CMKBD's must have a minimum of 17 years of industry experience. Mr. Kelly, founded Northshore Kitchens Plus, Marblehead, MA in 198o and continues to offer his design services through TRK Design Company nationally.

Tom Kelly has been influential in the industry as a frequent lecturer, consultant for such industry giants as Sub-Zero and Wolf, and a featured designer on HGTV.
